INDUSTRY & START-UP DAY

A whole day dedicated to innovation and transformation in the bike industry. A day for innovators, developers and leaders.

The Industry & Start-Up Day at EUROBIKE 2024 was fully dedicated to the transformation of the bicycle industry. At its core was the European Cycling Declaration – a vision for the future of the sector, calling for a strong alliance within the industry. Young start-ups and research initiatives were highlighted as key drivers of innovation and given a platform to present their ideas.

Innovation and transformation were seen as opportunities to lead the bicycle industry towards a more sustainable future, following the principles of the Mobility Transition Pathways. This shift extended beyond production to include the service sector and retail. For those working in business development, product design, or corporate management, the Industry & Start-Up Day was an inspiring opportunity to witness the next steps for the industry.

The Industry & Start-Up Day at EUROBIKE 2024 offered a comprehensive look at the current state and future of the bicycle ecosystem. In a year where many bicycle manufacturers faced challenging times, bike service providers reported impressive revenue records. The day thus provided a holistic view of the industry – from production and retail to leasing and bike-sharing. Key economic figures and the role of cycling as a powerful economic booster were highlighted, offering valuable insights to leaders and decision-makers.

In addition to the current situation, there was a strong focus on the future of the bicycle ecosystem, both in Europe and globally. Discussions revolved around the European Cycling Declaration, the Transition Pathways, and new regulations in the fields of batteries and sustainability. The aim was to address how the bicycle sector can meet growing demands while ensuring profitability, safety, and reliability.

The day concluded with the presentation of the EUROBIKE Awards, which honored the industry's outstanding achievements and innovations.

The Industry & Start-Up Day took place on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on the Pink Stage and the Yellow Stage at the ECOMOBILITY Forum, Hall 8.
